Greece
Greece, located in Southern Europe, is officially known as the Hellenic Republic and has been a member of the European Union since 1981. Greece is also a member of Economic and Monetary Union of the European Union, NATO, the OECD, the WEU and ESA. Main agricultural products of the country include: barley, sugar beets, wheat, corn, olives and olive oil, tomatoes, wine, tobacco and potatoes. Sheep and goats are raised in abundance. Main minerals produced in the country include: lignite, petroleum, iron ore, bauxite, lead, zinc, nickel and marble. Main industries are: tourism, shipping, food and tobacco processing, textiles, chemicals, metal products, mining and petroleum. |
